# Migrating from Trinket

Bringing your Trinket work into Kita takes just a few minutes. Once it's there, everything runs in the browser: your projects, your lesson links, and your students' view of the work.

## How it works

### Step 1: Open a new project in Kita

1. Go to <https://getkita.io/try/dashboard>
2. ​Click Create Project

Your project will open instantly in the browser.

### Step 2: Bring your code across

1. Open your existing Trinket project and copy your code.
2. Then in Kita:

* ​Paste your code directly into the editor or
* ​Upload files to your project workspace

Your work is saved automatically in your browser.

### Step 3: Give your class one link

Once your project is ready:​

1. Select **Share**
2. ​Generate a share link
3. ​Post it wherever your class will see it

Every student opens the same project instantly in their own browser. There's nothing for them to install and no accounts to create, so lesson time goes on the task rather than on logins.

### Step 4: Create a teacher account to save and manage projects

To save and manage your projects:

1. Create a free teacher account
2. Save your projects to your workspace
3. Organise and reuse them across lessons

Your work will remain accessible throughout the school year.

### After you migrate from Trinket

You’ve now moved your Trinket content into Kita.

Most teachers complete their first Trinket migration and lesson setup within minutes.

Your lessons now run in Kita with a shareable browser link. Students can open them instantly, and you can save, manage, and reuse projects across classes.

Kita gives teachers a browser-based way to migrate Trinket projects, share coding lessons, and keep classroom work easy to access.
